The Equine Experience...

Here at Winterwood, we have always believed that a horse is the best therapy. They are mirrors of our every emotion, veiled or demonstrated, and they teach us through true reflection. We see who we are through their reaction to us, and we visualize who we want to be more clearly when we work with them.

We are always looking for ways to develop true partnerships with our horses, and almost invariably these partnerships develop on the ground, where man and horse look into each others eyes and relate and react without touching.

Learning the Language of Equus...

Many people do not realize that there is a gratifying experience with horses that doesn't involve sitting on their backs. For those who are intimidated by, or not interested in or incapable of riding, we would like to introduce you to our very special program called 'Learning the Language of Equus'. We provide a safe environment and well trained horses to allow our students to enjoy this incredible experience. Developed for horselovers of all ages and is a great 'spa' day experience for a group to enjoy. Private, group or 'Spa' rates available on request.

For those interested in developing their groundwork skills into showing, we provide 'Showmanship 101', a fun program that will teach you how to show horses at the local club shows in the Halter and Showmanship classes. We provide top notch horses and all equiment required. Private or semi private available.

Learn to Ride...

For those looking for an introduction to riding , we suggest our 'Learn to Ride', program, a four week 8 hour program that introduces new equestrians to horses and life at the stable. Professionally trained instructor will teach you to properly lead, groom, tack up, mount, and begin to ride with the empasis on safety and good horsemanship.

We also provide private or semi private riding lessons for beginner to intermediate riders based on Equine Canada Rider Level Program. Private and semi private available.
