Top Quality in a Natural Way...

Here at Winterwood, the philosophy is a simple one. Provide top quality foodstuffs in a natural way. What started as a personal quest "to provide premium quality-healthful food" for my children, has turned into a very satisfying and rewarding lifestyle.

At Winterwood, it is just as important to ensure our livestock were housed properly and kept content as it was to know what they ate. We raise only the number of fowl or lambs that we can house comfortably at any time. On an annual basis, we raise approximately 300 white rock broilers, 50 turkeys, 50 guinea fowl, and 100 Canadian Arcott lambs. Our Beef comes from my Fathers farm nearby, and the cattle are primarily Hereford, Charolais cross. Our clientel has grown slowly through word of mouth.

Small Farm, Big on Health...

Winterwood is a small farm and will remain small, we produce a diverse array of natural and healthful products. We use only organic feeds for Laying Hens, Broilers and Turkeys, and buy local grain and hay for our sheep and cattle. Our animals live in a natural environment and graze in open fields as long as the season allows. When the winter weather arrives and the grasses die down, the livestock are provided good shelter and plenty of water, and live peaceful, contented lives. We use no hormones or antibiotics in any of our food products. Our herbs and vegetables are grown the old fashioned way, with composted manure layed on beds in the fall, there is no need for artificial fertilizers or chemicals.

When you purchase a product from Winterwood, you can rest assured, if it isn't destined for my table, it won't be coming to yours.
